I'm so excited to tell this story! It's a fun little tale about some sleepy mice and their exciting adventure with a snake. The intended audience should be around 3-6 years old, though older viewers might get a kick out of watching me mix up the words. Even though I'm not the best at reading, I loved sharing this wonderful story.

Five Baby Mice
"Where are the baby mice? Squeak squeak squeak! (hide hands behind back)
I cannot see them! Peek peek peek. (shade eyes with hand, as if looking for the mice)
Here they come from the hole in the wall, (take out a clenched fist from behind your back)
One, two, three, four, five - that's all!" (slowly open up one finger for each mouse, starting with the thumb and ending with the pinky)

The Baby Mice
Where are the baby mice?
Hiding in a nest. (left fist in right hand)
One peeks out. (left pinky pops up)
Where are all the rest? (Shrug)
One is sleepy. (left ring finger pops up, but not too energetically)
One is snappy. (left middle finger pops up - just be careful with this one)
One is crying. (pointer pops up - and then droops)
And the last one is happy! (left thumb pops up and wiggles)

Crafts
DLTK has a lot of great mouse crafts. My favorite is the heart craft. If you are working with very little ones, it's easy to premake the hearts and the kids like to decorate and glue. Older children can make nicely polished pieces without too much trouble. Here's an example of a mouse full of love.
