Ah! The joys of summer! BBQing, swimming, camping, and traveling! But traveling with little kids can be stressful, believe me. What's a parent to do? Go to your local library and pick up some picture books. Don't know what to get? Here's some of my personal favorites.
Bartholomew and the Oobleck by Dr. Seuss--Bartholomew saves the kingdom from a sticky, green goo.
Punk Farm and Punk Farm on Tour by Jarrett J. Krosoczka--farm animals put together a punk rock band, unbeknownst to Farm Joe.
The Worst Person in the World at Crab Beach--/ by James Stevenson-The worst person in the world vacations at Crab Beach, but is made even more miserable by a mother and her son.
George and Martha by James Marshall--the story of two hippos
Miss Nelson is Missing by Harry Allard--The kids in Room 207 take advantage of their teacher's good nature until she disappears and they are faced with a vile substitute
Mortimer by Robert Munsch--Mortimer drives his parents crazy with his rowdiness when he won't go to sleep.
Your Pal Mo Willems Presents Leonardo the Terrible Monster by Mo Willems--Leonardo is a terrible monster -- he can't seem to frighten anyone. When he discovers the perfect nervous little boy, will he scare the lunch out of him? Or will he think of something better?
Stuck by Oliver Jeffers--Flyod decides to knock his kite out of the tree by throwing things at it, but everything he throws gets stuck too.
Edwurd Fudwupper Fibbed Big explained by Fannie Fudwupper ; with Berkeley Breathed helping slightly--Edwurd's little sister comes to the rescue when Edwurd's humongous fib lands him in trouble with a three-eyed alien from another galaxy
The Wump World by Bill Peet--The Wump World is an unspoiled place until huge monsters bring hordes of tiny creatures from the planet Pollutus

Enjoy! Camara
