Stuck by Oliver Jeffers
Floyd gets his kite stuck up in a tree. He decides the only thing to get it down is to throw more things up in the tree. After throwing his shoes, a bucket of paint, and even a ladder, he throws more outrageous items up in the tree. Will he ever get his kite down?
This hilarious book is great for kids and adults. My favorite part of the story is when the kid throws a ladder into the tree which gets stuck, of course.

The kite wouldn't come down, even when other adults and big animals grab a hold of the string. It's up to Sam to save the day.
This book has pleasant illustrations and simple rhymes, great for younger kids.

Rhyming Dust Bunnies by Jan Thomas
Ed, Ted, and Ned all are rhyming dust bunnies, but their fellow bunny, Bob, doesn't rhyme. Instead, he is desparately trying to warn the others about the impending dangers. This book cracked me up! My favorite line is "Bob, no. . .'Look out! Here comes a big scary monster with a broom!' does not rhyme with anything, really." Parents and children are guarenteed lots of laughs with this colorful book.

Betty Bunny Loves Chocolate Cake by Michael B. Kaplan; Illustrated by Stephanie Jorisch
Betty Bunny loves chocolate cake so much that she announces to her family she is going to marry chocolate cake. Her mother tells her she has to eat healthy food before she have chocolate cake. Betty decides she can't wait for her chocolate cake and takes a piece with her to school with distasterous results. The author and illustrator really capture common reactions children have. This is a silly book for children of all ages.

Doctor De Soto Goes to Africa by William Steig
Doctor Bernard De Soto (the same one from Doctor De Soto) and his wife, Deborah, travel to Africa to replace a rotten molar on an elephant. But Doctor De Soto is kidnapped and missing in the jungle. Will the good dentist be found. And will the elephant's tooth get fixed? What I really liked about this delightful picture book was the cameos of characters from his previous works. A great read for any age.
