Twin to Twin by Margaret O'Hair & Thierry Courtin

This book takes a look at the lives of twins, a boy and a girl. It has

sweet, simple rhymes, easy enough for toddlers to understand and enjoy. The drawings are simple and adorable. My favorite picture is the twins splashing together in the tub. I have 2 year-old twin nephews and really enjoyed how the author gave both twins in the book their own personality. This book is great for ages 2-4.

Ant, Ant, Ant (an Insect Chant) by April Pulley Sayre & illustrated by Trip Park

This colorful ryhming book about insects is sure to tickle anyone's funny bone. The insects are turned from creepy-crawlies to endearing characters. My favorite picture is the damselfly with the puckered lips. A great book for kids of all ages. Reserve Ant, Ant, Ant today.

Rhyming Dust Bunnies by Jan Thomas

Ed, Ted, and Ned all are rhyming dust bunnies, but their fellow bunny, Bob, doesn't rhyme. Instead, he is desparately trying to warn the others about the impending dangers. This book cracked me up! My  favorite line is "Bob, no. . .'Look out! Here comes a big scary monster with a broom!' does not rhyme with anything, really." Parents and children are guarenteed lots of laughs with this colorful book.

Toddler Storytime for Boats and Ships

Hello again! The lovely weather has inspired me spend some time out by the coast. The sun shines on the beautiful boats as they prepare to go to sea. Let's pretend like we can join them as we listen to boat books and sing ship songs!

Toddler Storytime for Frogs! With Fingerplays, Books, and Songs

Hello!  This week's Storytime involved frogs!  There is still quite a bit of snow left in Maine, but soon it will be time for tadpoles. 

For Storytime, we listened to books by a few of my favorite authors, Karma Wilson and Ellen Stoll Walsh.  The frog songs were especially fun.  All week, I found myself humming "Five Green and Speckled Frogs."

Storytime for Night with books, fingerplays, and rhymes

Hello again!  This week's theme was "night."  We sang some songs and read books about sleeping and saying good night.  We also listened to some famous books!  Goodnight Moon is a classic and The House in the Night won the Caldecott Medal in 2009.
