The Retired Kid by John Agee

Brian is tired of being a kid. He decides to retire and live at the Happy Sunset Retirement Community in Florida. But retirement isn't all it's cracked up to be, especially when you're the youngest person there by sixty years. The drawings are excellent and hysterical. This book is great for kids ages 8 & up. Reserve The Retired Kid today.

Ant, Ant, Ant (an Insect Chant) by April Pulley Sayre & illustrated by Trip Park

This colorful ryhming book about insects is sure to tickle anyone's funny bone. The insects are turned from creepy-crawlies to endearing characters. My favorite picture is the damselfly with the puckered lips. A great book for kids of all ages. Reserve Ant, Ant, Ant today.

Stuck by Oliver Jeffers

Floyd gets his kite stuck up in a tree. He decides the only thing to get it down is to throw more things up in the tree. After throwing his shoes, a bucket of paint, and even a ladder, he throws more outrageous items up in the tree. Will he ever get his kite down?
This hilarious book is great for kids and adults. My favorite part of the story is when the kid throws a ladder into the tree which gets stuck, of course.

Someone Bigger by Jonathan Emmett & Illustrated by Adrian Reynolds

Little Sam wants to hold onto the kite, but his father says "This kite needs someone bigger." When a huge gust of wind blows the kite away, taking his father with it, Sam follows after them. The kite wouldn't come down, even when other adults and big animals grab a hold of the string. It's up to Sam to save the day.
This book has pleasant illustrations and simple rhymes, great for younger kids.
